Watercolour classes in January!

It's the start of a new era with the Masham Art Group! A little bit of news of my teaching role!

I'm taking over the admin and the hosting of this group!

I get asked a lot about classes on watercolour and nature art journaling when I visit different festivals and events. This is one class I devote a lot of different approaches to painting to. The class boasts one day workshops, and indepth tuition but also guest artists too. Recent Karina Wiles mixed media and textile artist brought her excellent skills and experience to the group. Another brilliant tutor John Harrison gave a taste of his exceptional work and methods with line and wash.

This Spring term we are going to look at snow scenes..... gulp! Let's hope it melts quickly as it is forecast for us in North Yorkshire tonight!

Do you like the stuff? I don't, as I hate driving in it. The ice frightens me on the hills and the fear of not getting back home.

It is completely beautiful though, and I do love a winter palette! If it does treat us to a gorgeous perfectly crisp white blanket I will take the camera out. I may even venture out to try my new thermal socks in walking boots.

I think I have a good layer of blubber to withstand some en plein air painting! Then I'll have some new imagery for next year's Christmas cards!

I wonder how much snow we will get? I must admit I dread it!

I think the group will be more prepared than this townie!

The group continues to grow and attracts members from the local area.

It is very friendly, informative but informal and welcoming. We have had workshops in the surrounding community too. We have had days in West Tanfield, Snape, Grewelthorpe, Dallow Gill and Masham Town.

We start again on January 13th with me taking over from the previous organiser who was very efficient and a very good communicator. I hope I do as good a job!

I'll post some photos in the next 2 weeks to show you what gorgeous creations come of the white stuff!
