A day in the life of an artist: where will the Jay go?

I am hauling a 1.5m roll of paper around; It is as tall as I am.
I'm recording green spaces with sustainable art materials from the plants in that space. The piece in the photograph had freshly made buttercup leaf paint applied. I am drawing and painting in the spaces that will be developed in our local area, they will soon be covered in concrete.
Where will the Jay go? Where will the badger, the fox, the deer, the butterflies the crickets, yellow hammers and even the crows go when the earth movers move in.
This was image was created in a field that once housed tennis courts and was part of the land, I think to a farm.
I sat listening to chirps in the grass as there were crickets, a lot of small skipper butterflies and yellow hammers also darted about. I got to know the wildlife in that space today, I will mourn them when the concrete starts. I feel for the wild community that call this field home.
I don't think you really know what will be lost until you have sat there for a good amount of time.
