Calendar 2026!

Yesterday my car broke down on the way to my watercolour class. I was all prepared with 5 samples of greens in the landscape, autumnal trees and beautiful wet in wet washes. I was very much looking forward to seeing everyone's work after each demonstration. Ahhh nevermind these things are sent to try us!

So I was stood in the rain away from my car for hours and added water from the spray of traffic too. I was drenched or 'satched' as we say in Yorkshire. I toddled off to the pub to see if it was open, if I could use their loo and perhaps buy a coffee.

I knocked on the door looking like someone selling lucky Heather. (My ancestors would have been doing this).

The guy preparing the bar for lunchtime said yes and I kicked off my soaked, muddy trainers at the door. He made me the best cup of tea I've ever had. It was so lovely and warming. He also allowed me to go to the loo. I shuffled and squelched to the loo across the flagstone floor, leaving a wet trail. It made me wonder how travellers years ago were welcomed. I offered to pay but he said it was okay. I was so grateful and didn't really want to leave.

I was eyeing up the whiskeys, cosy fireside chairs and lunch menu!

As I stepped back outside into the grey sheets of rain, the recovery service were ringing. The guy said he would pick me up from the pub! Oh it was heaven climbing in his van. I did however leave his seat quite damp, when he dropped me off at the garage an hour and half later!

TodayI decided to take it easy and so I have been sitting and doing admin. I didn't feel a rush to do much at all. Yesterday just knocked me back.

I felt quite helpless at the side of road. Insignificant and small. Let's hope my car hasn't seen the end of it's days and there's a glimmer of hope and good luck coming my way.

Today, inbetween loads of admin, washing and sorting yet more bags for charity I went through my calendar 2026 imagery.

What do you think?

I'll be going through the proof tomorrow and hope I get it all sorted so it flows well.

Do the images look good for a calendar?

Hoping the next time I write that it maybe on my table ready to post out and im back in my Dinky Doblo.
