Oranges, russetts, golds, greens, reds and purples are shouting it out!

An exclamation of colours from the landscape signals a glorious Autumn! Already I am heaving out the blankets and the throws! My daughter was on the search for her oodies the other day and looking for the hot chocolate mugs.

I must admit I will miss the warm days of summer but being in that sauna stage of life, I will not miss a hot flush in a heatwave!

Here comes Autumn! A time of snuggling up on a night and taking in the gorgeous blanket of colour before it drops and becomes a dark and damp bitter chocolate colur on the ground.

I am spending some of these cooler slower days preparing my calendar for 2026.

If you follow me on instagram you may have seen the images coming together and me asking for feedback on each one. The Libran in me just can't trust I have it right.

The image below is one I am working on at the moment. I'm settling for October with this one; marrying it up with some turnip lanterns and crab apples. I think the Magpie could be better placed near the Rowan tree spirit; perhaps followers of my work will give me some feedback.

This image may look good on prints or perhaps even some printed textiles?

I had better get my backside off this chair and allow the caffeine to kick in from my morning cappuccino. The studio beckons and a few unfinished jobs lay around the place half painted (we are in the middle of moving and although only to downstairs it is an upheaval).

This weekend is Masham Sheep Fair which is a brilliant day out in the North Yorkshire Dales. I am appearing at the delightful sweet shop, Joneva, as Artist in Residence on Sunday! I have been working on some sketchy style canvases of sweeties which can be auctioned as a fun prize. So on that note I had better move myself closer to completing them!

Have a great weekend everyone! I might see you at The Sheep Fair!
