What is Park Sketch?

Is it free? Yes
WHEN IS IT? It will start as a monthly activity and be on a Saturday morning.
WHAT TIME? 10.30am is the time proposed
How long will it last? An hour is suggested from when we meet, to clearing away.
Where do we meet? A local park where we can draw the wild areas
What should I bring? A sketchbook and a mat, fold up stool and maybe a drink.
If you forget art materials I will have some to hand.
You will soon be able to buy a 'Park Sketch' sketchbook!
Is there toilet facilities nearby? Yes the local leisure centre have toilets
How long will it last? An hour

Is it for adults? Yes it is aimed at adults. Parents bringing children need to make sure they are supervised.
Is it suitable for very young children? No
What will it be like?
We will meet and walk into the wild life areas to draw. We will use drawing materials in a sketchbook. It is a quiet, calming and relaxing experience, being closer to nature and recording what you see and feel. Any rubbish must be taken with you.
Will it still go ahead in the rain, snow, ice, hail and winds?
A message will be advertised to let you know if the weather would spoil the sketching session.
Is this a taught session? There will be guidance with materials but it is about finding your own individual creative flow. I can help with sketching methods but each session will bring more and more confidence and mark making gestures in your sketchbook.
