Poking my head above the parapret

I am joining The Art Crowd in displaying artwork in Feasegate, York on Monday for 2 weeks!

The exhibition is from 11th August till 24th August 2025!

There are 7 of us displaying our work and it is too exciting and also nerve racking!

I have been photographing my work in preparation and also getting tables etc ready.

We set off on Monday morning nice and early for a drive into the city centre.

I am not looking forward to that!

However it will be great fun to exhibit alongside such brilliant artists and have 2 weeks of promoting my artwork. Who knows where it may lead!

I am exhibiting work that is painted on 4 long rolls of paper. It shows the nature and folklore of the seasons in the hedgerows and woodlands near my home.

This work also celebrates the life of Mike J Lancaster. My cousin, brought up as close as a brother to me. We crawled together, had double pram and pushchairs, we had the same school friends and I would say he was my first ever friend. I love you MIKE. A guy who will be remembered for being so funny, caring, kind, intelligent, interesting, a nature lover and a nature hero. Brilliant photographer and inventor. He was a superb human being and the husband to a beautiful lady, Stacey.

This work is for Mike and all the creatures he rescued. Life without him is hard, but I know I have to do something for nature as I know he would have still being caring for the countryside and creatures he saw on his post round. I was compelled to do this last year when Mike became poorly. Something inside me told me that I must start shouting out for the little creatures and raise an awareness of the #theittlegreenspaces we will lose.
